Book vs Serie: Sherlock Holmes' A Study in Scarlet

The "The book is better than the movie" motto is probably as old as the first movie made out of a book! However, if you've seen the movie (in this case, the BBC series!), is it worth to go through a 200 or 300 pages long book?

Dispite of the common sense, to know how a novel ends often does not spoil the very plasure of the reader who unfolds the story by himself. Some would even agree that if the end spoils the plot, it is not worth reading anyway! Don't you think so?

Miz Moffat compared both A Study in Scarlett (by Arthur Conan Doyle) and A Study in Pink (by BBC) for the ones that are still not sure if they should look for the book.
